Bombolulu Workshops and Cultural Centre is a programme of the Association for the Physically Disabled of Kenya (APDK), Coast Branch that operates several workshops and a cultural centre through which it offers social and economic rehabilitation and empowerment of people with disabilities.
Our mission is to empower people with disability socially and economically through training, and employment linkages by engaging them in financially sustainable provision of competitive products and services.
Bombolulu Workshops and Cultural Centre was established to empower people with disability socially and economically, and to enable them realise their full potential in their lives.
Handmade jewellery made by our in house artisans, ranging from necklaces, rings, bracelets, & bangles made from recycled brass, copper, wood, cow bone, semi precious stones & even metal soda cans.

Wood Carvings
Highly skilled artisans creating woodworks ranging from curios, art sculptures, wood art hangings for walls, & much more.

Bags
Our artisans hand make bags from leather, canvas, faux leather, & cotton. They make handbags, travel bags, laptop bags & more.

Textiles
Our artisans create designs inspired by African cultures & use traditional screen printing methods to create unique textile designs.

Clothing
We make clothing, t-shirts, shirts, masks, and much more.

Housing
We support our artisans with housing Our artisans are grateful for this because this saves them from travelling long distances.

School
We have a nursery school within our premises for the children of the artisans, which are located at our facility.

Culture Centre
We also run a culture centre where we hold events that help support our organization. The culture centre is also an educational facility where people can come to learn about the indegenious communities of Kenya.

Wheel Chairs
We produce wheel chairs in house where kind people & organizations can donate wheel chairs to other physically disabled people around Kenya
Currently the lead designer in our jewelry workshop. He suffered when he was in his teenage years and we gave him hope by empowering him to join our organization and now he’s been with us for 30 years!
Lazarus
Lazarus’s is a member of our office team, having hopes of learning everything from technology, to photography. He lost all hopes as a teenager, but luckily came across our organization & now he’s been with us for over 10 years.
CULTURAL CENTRE
Our cultural centre is an educational space where we educate people on the cultures of indigenous communities in Kenya.
Come experience a unique showcase on how communities used to live in Kenya.
Our centre is also a space where events takes place for performance arts, & events of any sorts.
WHEEL CHAIR PRODUCTION
We also produce wheel chairs at our facility in Mombasa, Kenya
People can make purchases of these wheelchairs, and they may also donate towards the wheel chair production if they would like to donate wheelchairs to physically disabled members of society who don’t have access to a wheelchair.
